Int'l investforum on realty to begin in St Petersburg Wed.

ST PETERSBURG, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - The 5th international
investment forum on real estate, PROEstate, begins here on Wednesday.
The world market of capital investments in real estate and Russia's
position, as well as the role of the State in the development of
investment-wise attractiveness of cities and regions will be the main
subjects for discussion within the framework of the three-day forum.
There are officials of Federal and regional government bodies, real
estate owners, executives of Russian and foreign
investment-and-construction, development, managing and consulting
companies, as well as architects, designers and realty lease holders among
approximately 3,000 participants in the forum.
According to an announcement by the forum organizers, the opening
ceremony is to be attended by Maxim Sokolov, director of the RF government
department for industry and infrastructure, and Ilya Ponomayov, Russian
Deputy Minister of Regional Development.
A plenary session dedicated to mechanisms for the development of the
real estate market in Russia and in the world will be the key event of the
first day of the forum proceedings. Priority subjects suggested for expert
discussions include a realty strategy of the State in the context of
current world trends, Russia in competition for foreign investments in
development projects, administrative and financial support measures to
reduce risks for potential investors, as well as international experience
and the realities of the Russian market in the sphere of housing
construction.
The forum programme provides for more than 30 discussion sessions
dealing with matters of current importance, including "green"
construction, State-and-private partnership in the field of
infrastructure, the development of the market of leased housing in Russia,
and the provision of personnel for the building sector.
Within the scope of the forum, realty facilities investment projects
from 40 Russian regions and 30 foreign countries are to be presented, as
well as over 160 development projects from Russia, Ukraine, Eastern and
Western Europe, specifically, city building plans, architectural projects,
plans for comprehensive development of territories, housing, office,
trade, hotel and industrial real estate facilities.
Winners of the all-Russia competition in ecological development and
energy efficiency, "Green Awards 2011", will be named on Sept 8. The
awards are being contested, in particular, by the project for an Olympic
railway terminal in Sochi, the S.T Richter cultural center in the city of
Tarusa, the "New Jerusalem" historico-architectural museum (Moscow
Region), the Baikal Harbour tourist complex on the shore of Lake Baikal
etc.
The forum has been organized by the Russian Ministry of Regional
Development, the government of St Petersburg, and the Guild of Managers
and Developers.
