"Profession: Journalist" filmfest begins in Kursk Wed,.

KURSK, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - A festival of acted and documentary
films on the theme of "Profession: Journalist" opens here on Wednesday
under the auspices of the Union of Journalists of Russia, the Kursk Region
committee for culture, and the regional cinema and video foundation (CVF).
Sergei Malyutin, CVF director, has told Itar-Tass, "The uniqueness of
the festival is in the fact that films on the programme focus on
journalists -- staff members of newspapers, TV studios, news
photographers, programme hosts and TV camera operators -- and on the
stories of their life, not always simple and at times even tragic".
Admission for all the shows is free. After the show of an acted film,
cinema enthusiasts will be able to meet film makers.
The festival will come to a close on Sept 9.
