Hyundai, Kia become official sponsors for Yeosu Expo
SEOUL, Sept. 7 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. signed a deal Wednesday to become official sponsors for the 2012 Yeosu Expo.
The two carmakers said they will be global partners for the event that will run from May 12 through Aug. 12 and is expected to attract more than 8 million visitors from more than 100 countries.
Under the arrangement, Hyundai and Kia, flagship companies of Hyundai Motor Group, the world's fifth largest automotive conglomerate, will provide all vehicles needed during the expo, and work with local organizers to ensure the success of the event.
Both companies played a role in helping Yeosu, a city located 455 kilometers south of Seoul, win the expo in 2007. The event is approved by the Paris-based Bureau of International Exhibitions, which oversees all international expositions.
