Prosecutor found dead in apparent suicide

DAEJEON, Sept. 7 (Yonhap) -- A prosecutor was found dead at his home in Daejeon Wednesday in an apparent suicide, police said.
The deceased prosecutor, identified only by his surname Huh, 33, presumably strangled himself to death with a rubber glove early Wednesday morning at his home in Daejeon, some 160 kilometers south of Seoul, according to the police. He has worked for the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office since January.
"I visited his home as he failed to report to the office this morning without any notice," one of Huh's colleagues said to the police. "Upon finding him lying dead in his kitchen, I called 119 and the police."
Investigators said they suspect Huh committed suicide, as a suicide note was found at the scene, with no signs of foul play detected. The note simply read, "I am sorry."
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, while an investigation is under way to find the motives behind the incident, according to the police.
"We have no idea what drove him to kill himself at least for now, but he might be under stress as it was his first year as a prosecutor," said an official at the prosecutors' office, who declined to be identified.
