Oliver Stone Joins His Son to Plan Documentary in Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Triple Oscar-winning, anti-White House Director Oliver Stone will join his son in Iran later this month to make arrangements for a documentary.
Stone had earlier planned a film on the country's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but stopped by 'scheduling'.
The son of American film director Oliver Stone - who caused controversy with his recent film about anti-US Latin American leaders - is in Iran preparing a documentary.
Oliver Stone would join his son Sean on 26 September.
It is unclear what the film is about.
In his 2009 documentary "South of the Border", Oliver Stone interviewed several leftist Latin American leaders, including Cuba's Raul Castro and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who is a close ally of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
In 2009, Stone said he had been in talks with Iranian officials to make a documentary about Ahmadinejad but scheduling had prevented it.
The United States and Iran broke diplomatic relations in April 1980, after Iranian students seized the United States' espionage center at its embassy in Tehran. The two countries have had tense relations ever since.
Sean Stone, 26, is a documentary film maker and actor, with small roles in some of his father's films. He annoyed Iranians with his 2004 movie "Alexander".
Iran regarded Stone's "Alexander" as an affront to national pride and refused to give it a cinema release.
