Million dollar haul at cannabis house
SYDNEY (AAP) - 07 Sept - More than one million dollars worth of cannabis has been discovered at a house in southwestern Sydney.
Police raided the house on Henry Lawson Drive at Georges Hall about 11am (AEST) on Tuesday and found all but one room of the home had been modified to grow cannabis hydroponically.
A total of 86 plants were found in one room and 43 immature plants were being propagated in the bathroom, police said on Wednesday.
Two other rooms were being used exclusively to dry out cannabis.
Police also found 111 kilograms of cannabis heads.
The heads and the whole plants are together estimated to have a street value of more than $1 million.
Five shotguns and one kilogram of a white powder thought to be a combination of illegal drugs and cutting agents were also seized in the raid.
A 24-year-old man from Vietnam and a 28-year-old woman from Korea were arrested inside the house.
The man was charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and was due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday.
The woman was charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and was bailed to appear at Fairfield Local Court on September 26.
