National reconciliation in Somalia to pave wave for full coop with Russia
MOSCOW, September 8 (Itar-Tass) -- National reconciliation in Somalia will create conditions for restoration of full-scale cooperation between that country and Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.
Somalia has been torn apart by civil war for about two decades.
"Russia, just like the whole international community, recognises only the Transitional Federal Government in Mogadishu as the legitimate
authorities," the diplomat told Itar-Tass.
The political process in Somialia is in "a critical stage" and "urgent measures are needed to solve the problems of the transitional period and adopt a roadmap. A key role in this process should be played by the inter-Somali conference in Mogadishu of September 5-6", Bogdanov said.
