Police say search in bank unrelated to Prokhorov

MOSCOW, September 9 (Itar-Tass) -- Police said on Thursday the search
in the International Financial Club (MFK) Bank had nothing to do with
billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov whose ONEXIM Group owns the bank.
The main department for the fight against corruption and economic
crime said the search "was not related to bank activities." "It was an
operation to cut short a fact of corruption. The malefactor was detained
in the bank while receiving a bribe," It said.
MFK press service told Tass the search "was related to an individual
client of the bank. It had nothing to do with the MFK Bank, Onexim Group
or the Right Cause Party," it said.
Prokhorov, one of the richest Russian men, headed the Right Cause
Party this year and said he was eyeing the position of the prime minister.
