Vientiane Capital drafts plans for future
(KPL) The Fourth Plenary Session of the Party Executive Committee of Vientiane capital was held in Vientiane from 16-19 September to review the implementation of the policies over the past year.
In the four-day session, the delegates reviewed the implementation of the policies over a period of one year and also examined how the resolutions passed at the Eight Party Congress were carried out.
The meeting mentioned the achievements of the Eight Party Congress and the extent of the realization of the resolutions of the fifth National Assembly meeting (sixth legislature) of the National Assembly.
At this meeting, reports were delivered on the implementation of the National Defense and Security in 2007-2008 and the plan for the coming year, 2008-2009 and the others were: international relations, country report on socio-economic development for 2007-2008 and the People’s Court of Vientiane capital.
Another topic discussed was the implementation of the Action Programme of Vientiane for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. The delegates talked on developing the base economy, the agricultural revival after the flood and the preparations for the celebration of the 450th anniversary of the foundation of Vientiane Capital and the SEA Games.
Mr Sombath Yialiheu, Party Secretary of Vientiane capital and Dr Sinlavong Khoudphaythoune, Vientiane Mayor conducted the closing ceremony of the meeting.
