USA praises Laos for cooperation in search for US POW/MIA
(KPL) United State praised Laos for providing cooperation over the past 25 years in the survey and search operation for Prisoner Of War/Missing In Action (POW/MIA) in Laos.
Detachment Three Commander to Laos, Lt.Col. Brandt H. Deck read the letter sent by Executive Director, National League of POW/MIA Families, Ms Ann Mills Griffiths, during the commemoration ceremony for POW/MIA held at US Embassy to Laos, Vientiane on 19 September.
US Ambassador to Laos, Mr Ravic R. Huso said the ceremony was held in recognition of the strong cooperation between United States and Laos in the search and collection of the remains of US army personnel for repatriation to their hometowns.
He also said that due to the good relations between US Embassy and Lao Government, the US found the remains of 227 US citizens and they were brought back to their country.
