Israeli ambassador, other diplomats are leaving Egypt.
CAIRO, September 10 (Itar-Tass) -- Israel's ambassador to the ARE with
his family and staff of the Israeli diplomatic mission are leaving Egypt.
As Cairo's international airport has said, they will fly to Tel-Aviv on a
military transport plane, which is now on the way to the Egyptian capital.
The decision to recall the ambassador was taken by the Israeli
goverment. In addition, Israel has created a crisis center under Foreign
Minister Avigdor Lieberman, which is monitoring the situation following
the latest riots.
Israel has asked the U.S. for help to protect the Israeli embassy in
Cairo. The Egyptian authorities are unable to control a crowd of young
people, who organized unrest in front of the high-rise building, which
houses the Israeli embassy. First, thugs destroyed a wall erected a week
ago, and then got inside the building, but failed to reach the diplomatic
mission, and eventually directed all their anger against a police station,
which they tried to set on fire.
The police and army have both sent reinforcements, as well as dozens
of armored vehicles to the area of the embassy. According to the latest
data, riots left 300 people injured. One died of a heart attack.
