Russian team moves up to second place at Taekwondo Champs
PYONGYANG, September 11 (Itar-Tass) -The Russian National team has
moved up to the second place in the standings of the 17th Taekwondo World Championships in the North Korean capital.
The Russian team has won five gold, nine silver and three bronze
medals. The North Korean team is the leader with fourteen gold, three
silver and three bronze medals. Tajikistan is third with three gold, two
silver and five bronze medals. Bulgaria, China and Croatia hold the
fourth, fifth and sixth places, respectively.
A delegation from Russia, consisting of thirty athletes, is the
biggest at the championships that had drawn together the national teams of more than 80 countries.
The competitions will last until September 12.
