Iranian FM Calls for Implementation of Recent Agreements with Pakistan

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani in Tehran urged the implementation of agreements recently inked by the two countries officials.
Salehi said that implementation of the recent agreements reached between Iran and Pakistan in the joint Iran-Pakistan economic commission in Islamabad is of prime importance.

He said that finalizing Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and transfer of gas through that the gas pipeline is very significant for both Tehran and Islamabad.

Salehi emphasized the need for boosting trade relations between both counties.

Rabbani for her part said that it is necessary to follow up the already reached agreements between two countries.

"Pakistan high-ranking officials emphasize the bilateral ties in different commercial, including cooperation with the banking system," she added.

Iran and Pakistan have been enjoying cordial and brotherly ties for a long time, and analysts believe that the strong bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan are vital for the stability of the region.

Earlier in July, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari in Tehran underscored the necessity for the expansion of cooperation between the two neighbors in all arenas, specially in agricultural, industrial and energy fields.
