Two S. Koreans among the injured in train derailment in Germany


SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Yonhap) -- An elderly South Korean couple are among those injured in the derailment of an intercity passenger train in Germany, officials in Seoul said Monday.
   The 78-year-old South Korean man, only identified by his surname Park, and his 71-year-old wife sustained injuries in Sunday's train accident at St. Goar in the Rhineland, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
   A heavy rainstorm was blamed for the accident.
   Park's wife sustained minor injuries but her husband was admitted to a hospital with head injuries, the ministry's statement said.
   A South Korean embassy official was sent to the hospital to help them, it said.
   At least 10 passengers were injured in the accident which reportedly occurred when a strong storm washed debris onto the tracks, the statement said.
