Iranian Air Force Starts Main Phase of Massive Air Drill
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) on Tuesday started the main phase of its four-staged air drills with testing live munitions and missiles.
The new phase was officially started in a ceremony attended by Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Abdul-Rahim Mousavi and IRIAF Commander Brigadier General Hassan Shahsafi in Northwestern Iran today.
An array of fighter jets, fighter bombers, cargo and transportation planes, including F-4, F-5, Sukhoi SU-24 fighter-bombers, Mig-29 and the logistic C-130 planes, and Saeqeh home-made fighter jets conducted air drill using live munitions.
The large offensive air drills, codenamed "Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Vellayat III", started in Northwestern Iran last week.
Different tests on plane equipments, ammunitions and tactics are underway in several phases during the 10-day exercises.
