Kazakhstan steps towards fast IСT development - PM.
ASTANA, September 14 (Itar-Tass) - Kazakhstan is on its way towards
fast development of the information and communication technologies and
this is one of the government's priorities, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim
Masimov said in his opening remarks to the international exhibition
Digital Communications Kazakhstan-2011 on Wednesday.
"Kazakhstan's government believes that the republic's economy has an
opportunity to become more competitive in different spheres in partnership
with the world's leading companies and through the development of domestic
companies that are already approaching the world standards," he said.
"It can become competitive not only in the information and
communication technologies, but also through their development in
education, medicine, and production sector," he said.
The largest IT exhibition in Central Asia brought together over 400
delegates from Kazakhstan, Europe, the United States, Russia and China.
Over 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the event that will last
until September 16.
