The 7th international congress on terrorism to open in Paris

PARIS, September 15 (Itar-Tass) - The 7th International Congress for
Victims of Terrorism is opening in the French capital on Thursday. It has
been organized by the French Association of Victims of Terrorism under the
patronage of French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Four hundred fifty people from 35 countries, including Russia, will
take part in the forum.
The representative of North Ossetia Anneta Gadiyeva, a co-chairwoman
of the Beslan Mothers committee, will participate in discussions of topics
related to the taking of hostages.
Terrorism victim from southern Russia Irina Khalai will also
participate in the aforesaid discussion. Irina suffered in a terrorist act
in the city of Volgodonsk in September 1999.
Several French government ministers will contribute to the work of the
Paris forum. French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe will report on ways of
fighting terrorism.
An international federation of victims of terrorism is expected to be
founded at the congress. The delegates will have a chance to see an
Oscar-nominee titled "Killing in the Name". The film tells about a place
which terrorism has occupied in modern society.
The participants in the congress will lay wreaths to the Monument
to victims of terrorism in Paris.
