Moldova, Norway agree on facilitation of visa regulations
CHISINAU, September 15 (Itar-Tass) - Moldovan Foreign Minister Iurie
Leanca and his Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr Stoere met in Oslo on
Wednesday to sign an agreement on facilitation of the visa regime between
the two countries.
Under the agreement, some categories of Moldovan citizens, such as
students, journalists, representatives of civil society, long-haul
truckers and athletes will have preferences in obtaining Norwegian visas.
The Norwegian foreign minister said he was impressed by the progress
Moldova had made over such a short period of time. Jonas Gahr Stoere noted
that Moldova was an active participant in the "Eastern Partnership"
program.
"Though Norway is not an EU member, I think that our countries can
exchange experience of cooperation with the European Union," the Norwegian
foreign minister went on to say.
The Moldovan foreign minister is staying in Oslo as a member of
Moldovan delegation, which is paying an official visit to Scandinavian
countries. The delegation is led by Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
