TURKISH PRESS REVIEW


ANKARA (A.A) - September 15, 2011 - Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Thursday issues the talks held by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Cairo and Trabzonspor's victory over Italy's Inter on Wednesday.
Hurriyet daily highlighted Erdogan's remarks in his interview with an Egyptian television channel, quoting him as saying "secularism means respect to all religions. If it is implemented, whole community lives in safety." 
Milliyet daily said that Turkey's Trabzonspor beat Italy's Inter 1-0 in the UEFA European Champions League Group B match in Milan and it was a great victory. The daily also said that French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron decided to visit Libya this morning, when Premier Erdogan was planning to hold talks in Libya, the last stop of his tour of North Africa.
Zaman referred to Premier Erdogan's talks in his "Arab Spring" tour, saying that Erdogan who held meetings with religious figures from various views and leaders of religious groups talked about "Turkey Model."
Turkiye said that Turkish security forces which have continued air operations to terrorist camps in the north of Iraq reached the final phase in their preparation for a ground operation.
Vatan daily quoted several members of the Western media as follows: 
Die Welt: Erdogan conquered hearts of Egyptian people.
The Guardian: Erdogan is a media star.
Time: Erdogan was welcomed in Egypt like a rock star.
