Experts at Sochi-2011 forum to discuss pharmacy market, car making

SOCHI, September 17 (Itar-Tass) -- Prospects for the development of
individual sectors of the economy, particularly pharmaceutical and
automotive industries, will be in the focus of attention of experts,
businessmen and officials at the 10th International Investment Forum
Sochi-2011 on Saturday.
Only the second day of the forum there will be held over a dozen
"round tables" on industrial topics.
The future of the Russian car market and "green" vehicles will be
discussed by senior managerial staff of General Motors, Renault, Ford and
Volkswagen, which already have opened production facilities in Russia, as
well as representatives of Russian manufacturers - AvtoVAZ, KAMAZ and GAZ.
If the domestic pharmaceutical industry will gain a "second wind"
after the government announced the program for the development of this
industry, which by 2020 should provide 50 percent of the items on the
counters of Russian pharmacies will be discussed at another platform of
the Investment Forum by representatives of major international companies.
The organizers included in the agenda several new themes for Russia.
In particular, the guests of the forum will be asked to give thought to
how to make the processing of municipal solid waste environmentally safe
and a profitable business.
Trends in alternative energy and opportunities for international
cooperation in this field will be considered at another "round table".
In the meantime, the federal road agency, Rosavtodor, together with
the road builders from around the world will discuss how to effectively
use public-private partnership to deal with Russia's eternal trouble - bad
roads.
In the afternoon there will follow discussions on a variety of topics
- from investment in tourism, housing construction and environmental
safety to energy-saving technologies in passenger transport and
preservation of the ecosystem of the North Caucasus.
This year's tenth forum, for the first time held at Dagomys, has
brought together a record seven thousand visitors, who have placed their
expositions on an area of 15,000 square meters near the Winter Theater.
However, already now these facilities are not enough, and possibly in a
few years the forum will move to Olympic sports venues.
