Iranian, Polish FM Officials Discuss Development of Relations

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Director-General for North and Eastern Europe Behnam Behrouz met with Polish deputy foreign minister to discuss possible ways of expanding ties and cooperation.
The Iranian foreign ministry official, who arrived in Poland for two days of political talks with Warsaw officials, met with several Polish foreign ministry officials and chairman of Poland-Iran parliamentary friendship group on Friday.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed major issues in bilateral ties in all the various spheres of politics, economy and culture.

The Iranian official stressed the need and importance of exchanging delegations between the two sides, reminding that the move would help Tehran and Warsaw get more familiar with each other's capacities and boost their relations and cooperation.

He further laid emphasis on the role of Poland, as the rotating president of the European Union, in enlightening the EU member states about Iran and removing the existing misunderstandings between Tehran and some European capitals.

The polish deputy foreign minister, for his part, stressed Iran's key position and importance in the world, and reiterated the necessity for enduring talks and interactions between the two sides.

Poland has recently shown deeper interests in expanding cooperation with Iran in various fields, including culture and art.

Iran's documentary, short and feature films have recently been on screen in Poland.
