President Ahmadinejad to Leave for New York Monday

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to leave Tehran for New York on Monday to attend an annual meeting of the UN General Assembly.
President Ahmadinejad will leave Tehran at the head of a high-ranking politico-economic delegation as he plans to pay visits to Venezuela, Mauritania and Sudan after participating in the 66th UN General Assembly Meeting in New York.
Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Senior Presidential Aide Mojtaba Hashemi Samareh, Minister of Industry, Mining and Commerce Mehdi Qazanfari, former Vice-President Ali Saeedlou and a large number of other government and parliamentary officials are accompanying the president during his tri-leg tour of North and South America and Africa.
In the states, the Iranian president is slated to address the UN conference and attend a series of meetings with a number of world leaders on the sidelines of the General Assembly session.
Meeting with the Iranian expatriates in the US is among his other plans during the trip to New York.
Ahmadinejad is going to gift a book to all the political delegations present at the UN meeting. The book is a collection of the documents on the occupation of Iran by the US, Britain and Russia during the World War II.
Following his stay in New York, Ahmadinejad will pay a visit to Venezuela to meet with his counterpart Hugo Chavez and endorse several agreements on mutual cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian president and his accompanying delegation will then leave Caracas for Mauritania and Sudan to meet with the leaders of the two African states.
