Palestinian MP Praises Supreme Leader's Key Speech on Islamic Awakening

TEHRAN (FNA)- A member of the Palestinian Legislative Council lauded the Iranian Supreme Leader's comprehensive knowledge about the current developments in the region, specially Palestine, and underlined that Iranian and Palestinian officials share almost identical views on the Arab spring.
Speaking to FNA on Sunday, Zahir Sandoq pointed to the Iranian Supreme Leader's keynote speech at the First International Conference on Islamic Awakening in which he called for the freedom of Palestine, and stated, " Ayatollah Khamenei actually spoke of our heartfelt wish and demand in his address."

He noted that Supreme Leader's speech showed that Iran and Palestine hold very close political stances on revolutions in Arab states.

In his speech on Saturday, the Leader called for the freedom of Palestine, and stated, "The freedom of Palestine from the Zionist regime's wild clutch is the great goal that should be materialized."

The first conference on Islamic Awakening kicked off work here in Tehran on Saturday in the presence of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Over 600 foreign thinkers and intellectuals from 80 world countries and over 400 elites from Iran are attending the two-day conference.
