Samsung laptop receives top review from U.S. Consumer Reports
SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) -- One of the latest laptop computers by Samsung Electronics Co., the world's top memory chipmaker, was named the best laptop in the segment by U.S. Consumer Reports, industry sources said Monday.
Samsung's QX411 laptop computer recently was named the best laptop in the 14-inch segment by Consumer Reports, which offers product reviews and ratings by experts, sources said.
A relatively newcomer in the global laptop market, the latest recognition comes after another product received sterling reviews earlier in the year. In June, the company's Sens Series 9 Notebook was named the best 13-inch laptop by the magazine, beating Apple Inc.'s MacBook Air.
The evaluations were based on performance, portability, ergonomics, versatility, display, battery life and weight. Samsung's QX411 received the highest scores in performance, portability and battery life.
The Envy 14 series laptop by Hewlett-Packard Co., meanwhile, shared the top laurels alongside Samsung's laptop with Lenovo Group's ThinkPad Edge E420 being named the runner-up in the segment. This was followed by HP's Pavilion dv4t and Dell Inc.'s Inspiron 14R.
