Iran's Top Security Official Arrives in Moscow

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary (SNSC) Saeed Jalili, who is also Tehran's chief negotiator in talks with the world powers, arrived in Moscow to attend a gathering of the top National Security officials of 68 world countries.
During the visit to Moscow, Jalili is also due to attend a meeting with his Russian counterpart to discuss bilateral issues.

Russia has recently offered a phased proposal to Tehran in pursuit of resolving a longstanding nuclear standoff between Iran and the West.

Iran has declared that it agrees with the proposal in principle, but it needs time to review the details to see if they do not harm Iran's national interests.

Jalili has also recently sent a letter to the EU Foreign Policy, Catherine Ashton, to offer a resumption of talks between Tehran and the 6 world powers. The western countries have not yet provided a response to the letter.

In Moscow, Jalili is also scheduled to address an academic meeting at the International Relations faculty.

He will later attend a meeting with the Russian elites and thinkers to elaborate on the Islamic Republic of Iran's stances on regional and international issues and developments.
