Senior Iranian MP Raps Germany for Sheltering PJAK Terrorists

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior member of the Iranian parliament blasted Germany's hypocrisy in dealing with terrorist groups, saying that Berlin has created a hub for terrorists, while pretending to be active in the war on terror.
"The free move and activities of these terrorist groups (i.e. PJAK) in Germany run counter to the mottoes chanted by this country against terrorism," Head of Iran-Germany Parliamentary Friendship Group Seyed Ali Adiani Raad said in a meeting with a parliamentary delegation from Germany on Monday.

Adiani Raad said that the PJAK terrorist group has carried out numerous attacks against the innocent Iranian civilians and Germany should not allow the groups to freely live and conduct activities in the European country.

In recent months, PJAK terrorists, who are based along the rugged mountain border, have ferried across the Iraqi Kurdistan border with Iran and staged several terrorist operations, killing scores of Iranian civilians and military officials.

Iran shares a 1,200-kilometer border with Iraq, about half of which is with Iraqi Kurdistan, extending from Khanaqin to the Turkish border in the North.

In July, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) arrested several teams of PJAK, who intended to infiltrate Iran to stage terrorist operations in the country.

In response, Iran deployed about 5,000 military forces in the Northwestern parts of the country along its joint border with the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

During the operations, the IRGC forces killed, injured and arrested tens of terrorists and destroyed their headquarters in the bordering areas of Alvatan near Sardasht city in Northwestern Iran.
