Samsung C&T wins US$600 mln order from UAE
SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Yonhap) -- Samsung C&T Corp., a South Korean trading and construction company, said Tuesday that it has clinched a US$600 million order to build a combined cycle power plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Under the deal with Emirates Aluminium Company Ltd. (EMAL), Samsung C&T will build the second stage of EMAL's combined cycle plant to supply electricity to EMAL's aluminum smelting factory in Taweelah, some 76 kilometers from Abu Dhabi.
It will take 33 months to complete the 1,023 megawatt plant by June 2014, said the builder.
