KOTRA holds business consultations for airplane parts makers

SEOUL, Sept. 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's state-run trade promotion agency said Wednesday that it has organized consultation sessions to help the country's airplane parts makers secure tie-ups that could allow them to make deals with global aviation companies.
The Global AeroTech 2011 takes place on Wednesday and Thursday in Sacheon, some 437 kilometers southwest of Seoul, with eight aviation firms from six countries participating, including Brazil's Embraer S.A. and Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries, said the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
The foreign buyers will seek partnerships and business deals with South Korean parts firms in efforts to reduce production costs, according to KOTRA.
The agency said it is holding the trade fair in Sacheon because it is home to many of the country's aviation businesses, including the Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. that made the T-50 supersonic jet trainer.
