Swedish Envoy Underlines Iran's Key Role in Afghanistan

TEHRAN (FNA)- Swedish Ambassador to Tehran Magnus Wernstadt stressed Iran's main role in Afghan peace, welfare and security, and thanked Iran for its services to the Afghan refugees.
Wernstadt, who is accompanying representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR) to Isfahan, in a meeting with deputy governor general of the province in political and security affairs on Tuesday afternoon said that this autumn a joint meeting among Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan will be held on Afghanistan's future and Iran's presence in the gathering will be very important.

According to the Islamic republic news agency, he added that the main solution to Afghans' problems is to establish peace and security in the country and to achieve such goal, countries efforts in this concern will be necessary.

The Swedish envoy continued that travel to Isfahan and visiting Afghan settlements areas here in the province was very valuable and envoys from different countries can get a lot of information in this concern to echo for world society.

Representative of the UNHCR in Iran Bernard Doyle, accompanying envoys and diplomats from Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, France, India, Venezuela, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Britain, Uganda, Czech Republic, Belgium, Austria as well as representatives of World Food Program, UN Immigration Agency and the United Nations Children's Fund ( UNICEF) arrived in Isfahan on Tuesday.
