Ahmadinejad: Hegemonic Powers Striving to Save Israel

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad assured the hegemonic powers of their failure in attaining their colonialist goals due to the spread of Islamic Awakening in the region, and said they are now seeking to save Israel from turmoil.
"Today the hegemonic powers seek to save Israel and their failing economies but they should be aware that the regional nations are awakened and the awakening will lead to their failure in pursuing their colonial goals," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman on the sidelines of the 66th UN General Assembly meeting in New York.

He described resistance as the only way for the regional nations to gain victory against the hegemonic system, and said, "Today the former colonists have entered the scene under the guise and slogan of defending the rights of the nations, but in practice they still pursue the same colonialist goals, that is looting the nations' interests and wealth."

Ahmadinejad also called on the regional nations to keep united and vigilant against enemies' plots and conspiracies.

Analysts believe that the growing power and impacts of Islamic awakening and popular uprisings in the Muslim countries will entail dire consequences for the Zionist regime of Israel, including its further isolation in the region.

Egyptians raided the Israeli embassy in Cairo earlier this month and forced the Israeli ambassador to leave their country.

Less than a week later, Jordanians staged a similar demonstration and intimidated the Israeli diplomats in their country so deeply that the Zionist regime's diplomatic corps in Amman ran away even before the start of the rally in anticipation of the raid.
