KOTRA holds entertainment contents event in Hollywood

SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Yonhap) -- A business gathering to help South Korean entertainment content companies form ties with Hollywood film moguls took place on Thursday, the state-run trade promotion agency said.
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) said it held the Korea Media & Contents Market 2011 (KMCM 2011) at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles on the sidelines of the 3D Entertainment Summit -- the largest 3D-technology conference in the United States.
KOTRA sought to arrange one-on-one meetings between South Korean and U.S. executives, offering the chance to discuss partnership in co-production, distribution and joint technology development, it said.
"We plan to do our utmost to assist competitive Korean media content companies in making inroads into Hollywood," a KOTRA official said.
A total of 12 local contents-related firms, including SBS International and HWY 3D, took part in KMCM 2011. U.S. entertainment titans, including Walt Disney, Marvel Animation and 20th Century Fox, sent representatives to the event, according to KOTRA.
