SK Broadband, China Unicom forge business alliance
SEOUL (Yonhap) - SK Broadband Co., a South Korean fixed-line Internet service provider, said Thursday it has signed a preliminary agreement with China Unicom Ltd. to collaborate on Internet businesses in the two countries.
Under the agreement, SK Broadband, an affiliate of South Korea's top mobile carrier, SK Telecom Co., will work with China Unicom to expand Internet connections in China, Hong Kong and Korea, it said in a release.
China Unicom is China's second-largest phone carrier.
The two companies will develop new businesses in corporate markets based on their Internet data centers in Korea, China and Hong Kong, it said.
China Unicom also plans to open a Korea office to accelerate its business in its neighboring country.
