RF's companies exhibit their goods in Guangzhou SME Fair
SHANGHAI, September 22 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's pavilion opened at the
8th China International Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Fair on
Thursday. The market fair is being held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.
"Russia pays special attention to the development and innovative
activity of small and medium enterprises," Deputy Minister of Trade and
Industry, Igor Karavayev, said at a news conference. "The participation of
a great number of Russian companies in Guangzhou reflects the wish to
intensify cooperation with China in the sphere of small and medium
business and attract investments into Russian high technologies."
Russia is the first country to have been officially called a guest at
the fair, the Chinese news agency Xinhua said. The Russian pavilion's
exhibition area totals 1,000 square meters. It displays goods produced by
120 Russian enterprises in the Amur, Irkutsk, Novgorod and other regions
of Russia, working in such spheres as information, biomedical and
energy-saving technologies, machine-engineering and the services.
There is a special display of products from manufactuers in
Yekaterinburg, with which Guangzhou established sister-city ties in 2008.
