International Dance Fest to be held this October
Vientiane,sept.27(KPL)- The Second International Dance Festival 2011 is scheduled to be held in Vientiane Capital, Khammouane and Luang Prabang between 8 and 23 October.
The festival is to promote innovative performance and exchange of professional skills of young artists from the Mekong River neighbouring countries, France, and Singapore.
“The opening ceremony for the fest would be held on 8 October at the National Culture Hall, Vientiane. The artists will perform between 10 and 14 October in four or five villages in rural area in Vientiane, on 15-16 October in Thakhek district (Khammouane),” Mr. Ole Khamchanla, artist of the Kham Company (France) told a press conference held in Vientiane on Monday
The rounds of competition will be held in Vientiane again on 18-20 October, and in Luang Prabang on 22-23 October.
Mr. Ole said that we had a plan to organize dance performance every year and travel countrywide. Now we need more funding to sustain the Dance festival.
“Last year, we organized the Dance Festival in Vientiane Capital and Luang Prabang. This year, we have young member dancers from Thakhek to join the upcoming dance performance,” added Ole.
