Convicted armed robber escapes hospital
SYDNEY (AAP) - 28 SEPT - A convicted armed robber who escaped from a Perth hospital is now wanted for questioning over a bank hold-up a short time later, West Australian police say.
WA police are searching for Ronald Joseph Rowles, 51, who fled from prison guards at Royal Perth Hospital about 12.45pm (WST) on Wednesday after being admitted for medical treatment.
Rowles is also wanted for questioning over an armed robbery at the Westpac Bank in Northbridge on Wednesday afternoon, shortly after his escape, police say.
He is described as being fair skinned, 170cm tall with a slim build, grey hair and blue eyes.
Rowles was last seen wearing a green prison uniform.
Members of the public have been warned not to approach him, but to contact police if they see him.
