S. Korean parliamentary speaker calls for cooperation with Malaysia

SEOUL, Sept. 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's parliamentary speaker called for business cooperation between his country and Malaysia, especially in such areas as resources and energy, his office said Wednesday. During a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamed Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak in Malaysia earlier in the day, Rep. Park Hee-tae said South Korea is ready to cooperate in the resources and energy sectors with resource-rich Malaysia. Najib said he wants South Korean firms to increase investment in his country, adding that Malaysia will offer special incentives, according to Park's office. Rep. Park started his eight-day trip to Malaysia and Laos on Tuesday for discussions on economic cooperation with the Asian countries.
