Moldovan parliament opens autumn-winter session
CHISINAU, September 29 (Itar-Tass) - The Moldovan parliament will open its autumn-winter session on Thursday in hope of overcoming a protracted political crisis.
The situation has been unstable since April 2009 when the liberal
democratic opposition outraged by the Communists' election victory blocked the election of the head of state in parliament and demanded early elections.
Sixty-one out of 101 deputies must vote for a new president for him to be elected. The Moldovan parliament has been failing to do that over the past two years.
