S. Korean man shot to death in Philippines

SEOUL, Sept. 29 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean man was shot to death by two unidentified assailants in Quezon City of the Philippines on Thursday, Seoul's foreign ministry said.
The 59-year-old victim, identified only by his last name Heo, was parking his car in the city early in the day when two men on a motorcycle fired through the car window, shooting his right ear and arm, the ministry said in a press release.
The motive for the crime is not yet clear, it said.
The assailants immediately left the scene, leaving the victim to die on the spot. Heo had worked in the iron ore mining industry.
The South Korean embassy in Manila sent an official to the scene and asked the Philippine police for a thorough investigation into the case, the ministry said.
