S. Korea's industrial output grows 4.8 pct in Aug.

SEOUL, Sept. 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's industrial output continued to grow in August from a year earlier, but it seems to be losing its growth momentum in recent months in the face of deepening uncertainties in global markets, a government report showed Friday.
According to the report by Statistics Korea, production in the mining and manufacturing industries expanded 4.8 percent last month from a year earlier. The July figure marked straight output growth from July 2009 onwards.
The output, however, shrank 1.9 percent compared with a month earlier, marking the second consecutive on-month contraction, following a 0.3 percent decline tallied in July, the report showed.
