NK premier returns home after China trip
SEOUL, Sept. 30 (Yonhap) -- North Korean Premier Choe Yong-rim returned home Friday after a five-day trip to China, the North's state media reported.
Choe departed from Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province of China, and arrived in Pyongyang by special plane, accompanied by Vice Premier Ro Tu-chol and several economic officials, the Korean Central News Agency said.
He visited Beijing on Monday for an official goodwill trip, which comes a month after North Korean leader Kim Jong-il toured northeast China on his way home from a rare trip to Russia. In May, Kim also traveled across China and met with Chinese President Hu Jintao to discuss expanding bilateral economic and political relations.
Choe met with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday to discuss ways to promote bilateral cooperation, after holding talks with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao the previous day.
China is the North's key ally, as well as its economic benefactor and diplomatic supporter.
