Vietnamese, Lao legislators vow to uphold special friendship

(KPL) A top legislator of Vietnam has emphasised the necessity of upholding and expanding the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to further development and prosperity in each country.
According to VNA, the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairman, Nguyen Phu Trong, made these remarks while receiving the President of the Lao NA’s Commission for Cultural and Social Affairs, Douangdy Outthachak, in Hanoi on Sept. 23.
Trong welcomed the Lao delegation’s visit to Vietnam that aims to exchange experiences in law-making and supervising cultural, social and educational issues under cooperation agreements signed between the two legislative bodies last year.
In response, Outthachak affirmed that his committee would spare no efforts to beef up the cooperative relations between the two Parties, States and legislative bodies of Laos and Vietnam.
He said the ongoing trip focused on Vietnam’s experiences in vocational training, job placement and welfare for those who have proven devoted to servicing the nation.
The Lao lawmaker thanked Vietnam for its effective cooperation and assistance in developing high-quality human resources.
During their week-long visit, which runs until Sept. 27, the Lao delegates held talks with the NA’s Committee for Social Affairs, Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children, and worked with the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Training.
