Speaker Stresses Influence of Regional Revolutions on Palestinian Issue

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Saturday underscored the influence of the recent revolutions and uprisings in the region on developments in Palestine.
Addressing the opening session of the 5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada, Larijani reiterated the significance of the conference, and stated, "The conference is being held at a time when the region is at a sensitive juncture and ruled by sensitive conditions."
He warned about the West's plots to undermine the popular uprisings and the rising tides of Islamic Awakening, and asked the regional nations to keep vigilant about the efforts made by the West to decrease the value of Islamic awakening in the region.
"Regional revolutions have invaluable impacts on the issue of Palestine," he underscored.
The 5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada started work in Tehran today with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in attendance.
The two-day conference is chaired by Larijani.
Over 50 parliamentary delegations and political figures, elites and intellectuals and many state officials from Muslim and non-Muslim countries have participated in the event in support of the Palestinian intifada.
Iranian officials say that the domino-like collapse of dictators in the regional countries indicates that the Zionist regime will soon be annihilated.
Political observers believe that people's uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen and Libya are the result of growing "Islamic awakening" in the Middle-Eastern countries and have remarkably weakened support for the Zionist regime in region.
