Interactive museum of Victory opens in Moscow

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - An interactive museum of Victory will
open at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow on Sunday. The outdoor
exposition will be put on view on a square near Pavilion No.1.
"The museum visitors will be able to see and touch objects which used
to belong to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945," a
spokesperson of the Steel youth patriotic movement told Itar-Tass.
He said that any person would be able to participate in the Our Common
Victory project and personally tell the words of gratitude in front of
cameras to those whom we all owe our lives.
The exposition includes findings made during excavations on the former
battlefields, a military uniform from the times of the Great Patriotic War
and weapons: the famous Shpagin machine guns (PPSh), Mosin's rifles and
the Zis guns as well as GAZ-AA trucks.
"It will be possible to touch all the relics with hands and take
photos with them" the press service of the Steel movement, the event's
organizer, went on to say.
The visitors will see the best interviews with war veterans taken as
part of the Our Common Victory project. They will be run on plasma panels
installed on the square. The materials will include a video with memoirs
and recollections about the father of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin who fought near Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). A film about the
Brest Fortress will be shown on a big screen late at night.
The Our Common Victory project kicked off in Russia early in 2010.
It's supported by the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The
project's aim is to collect a huge video archive of reminiscences of
participants in the Great Patriotic War. Its main task is to withstand
attempts to falsify history and keep memory about veterans for future
generations.
