TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a message on Sunday extended his congratulations to the Guinean government and nation on the country's National Day.
In his message to the Guinean Prime Minister, Mohamed Said Fofana, Rahimi felicitated the Guinean government and nation on the country's Independence Day.

He further expressed the hope that the two countries would experience increasing ties and cooperation in all fields.

"I hope that in light of the political will of the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Guinea, we witness increasing relations between the two countries in all the different fields," Rahimi stated.

Since President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ascended to power 6 years ago, Iran has sought to boost ties and cooperation with Africa.

Iran is an observing member of the African Union and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.

The country is considered as one of the AU's strategic partners along with India, Japan, China, several South American states and Turkey, while Tehran is believed to be prioritizing promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states.
