URGENT - Soyuz booster with sat Glonass-M launched from Plesetsk.

MOSCOW, October 3 (Itar-Tass) -- The booster Soyuz-2.1b with a
satellite of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) was launched
successfully from the Plesetsk spaceport, spokesperson of the Space Troops
Col. Alexei Zolotukhin told Itar-Tass on Monday.
"The booster Soyuz-2.1b with a satellite Glonass-M was launched
successfully at 00.15 Moscow time on Monday from the Plesetsk spaceport,"
he said. The launch teams of the Space Troops were monitoring the launch
by the means of the ground automated control system, the spokesperson said.
"The launch of the rocket passed as scheduled," Zolotukhin added. "The
main center of spaceflight tests and mission control named after German
Titov is monitoring the launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1b in the radio coverage
zone by the means of the ground mission control system," he said.
Information Satellite Systems (ISS) named after Academician M.F.
Reshetnev designed and produced the satellite Glonass-M. The satellite has
a weight of 1,415 kilograms and a designed service life of seven years.
