Buryatia to offer Baikal drinking water project for Moscow market.

ULAN-UDE, October 3 (Itar-Tass) -- Buryatia is ready to make major
Baikal drinking water supplies on the Moscow market. Buryatia's leader
Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn intends to discuss this project with Moscow Mayor
Sergei Sobyanin during the Days of Economy and Culture of the Russian
Republic of Buryatia in Moscow on October 10-12.
"The Moscow market cannot be interested in usual products from the
republic, therefore, the stake is put on the products, which are branded
as ecologically pure." If the Russian capital is interested, the
republican leader pledged to make major Baikal drinking water supplies and
to launch a plant for bottled Baikal drinking water with its controlling
stake passed to Moscow. "But we need a good operator and the aid of Moscow
to find that one," Buryatia's leader said.
Several minor plants for bottled drinking water operate on the Baikal
Lake with their aggregate annual output of about 15 million liters of
drinking water taken from the deep Baikal waters.
The Days of Economy and Culture of the republic will be held on the
occasion of the 350th anniversary of Buryatia's voluntary joining the
Russian state. High on the agenda of the anniversary days is a protocol on
trade and economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation for
2012-2014, which Nagovitsyn and Sobyanin are to sign, an exhibition of
industrial enterprises, a presentation of economic and investment
potential of the republic and cultural events.
