Kuwaiti Speaker Lauds Ties with Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Kuwait's visiting National Assembly Speaker Jassem Mohammad Al-Kharafi praised his country's ties with Iran, and said the two states share identical views and work diligently to resolve potential disputes between the two nations.
"We accept any differences between our country and Tehran, but we are keen not to leave any disagreement without reaching a solution that serves our nations and peoples," he added in remarks to KUNA and Kuwait Television (KTV) following a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the Fifth International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada in Tehran.
Larijani praised the deep-rooted parliamentary relations between Iran and Kuwait, and stressed the importance of enhancing the economic ties between the two sides.
"We have common views about bilateral and regional issues, specially the Palestinian cause," he added.
Also, speaking on the sidelines of the Palestinian conference in Tehran, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Mubarak Al-Khrainij described the Palestinian cause as the main concern of the Arab and Islamic nations.
"This meeting is under the patronage of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Seyed Ali Khamenei, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which is an evidence of their keenness on this issue," he said.
Al-Khrainij called on the Palestinian factions to unite, adding that conflict will not serve the Palestinian cause.
Also, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Parliament's Financial and Economic Parliamentary Committee Yousif Al-Zelzelah said that the Palestinian cause is a central issue for the Kuwaiti Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the people of Kuwait.
