OSCE secretary general meets in Moscow with Russian FM, CSTO head.

MOSCOW, October 4 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
meets on Tuesday with newly appointed OSCE Secretary General Lamberto
Zannier, who will pay a visit to Moscow on October 3-4.
The sides plan to discuss topical issues in the OSCE activity, the
implementation of agreements of the OSCE summit in Astana on December 1-2,
2010 on the setting up common and indivisible space of Euro-Atlantic and
Eurasian security, spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander
Lukashevich said on Monday.
"Preparations for a next session of the OSCE Ministerial Council in
Vilnius in December will also be in the focus of attention at the talks,"
the diplomat noted.
Sergei Lavrov and Lamberto Zannier will also discuss the presence of a
mission of OSCE observers at the December election to the State Duma lower
house of Russian parliament.
In the afternoon, Zannier will meet with the secretary general of the
Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolai Bordyuzha, and
will for the first time address an expanded session of the OSCE Permanent
Council.
The CSTO and the OSCE maintain dynamic contacts, focusing on stability
and security in the Eurasian region, on the settlement of conflicts and
ways to prevent them.
In particular, they are engaged in a constructive dialogue on
assistance in the post-conflict development of Afghanistan, fight against
terrorism and drug trafficking, military-political issues. Contacts
between the general secretaries of the CSTO and the OSCE have become
regular.
