Egypt considers Turkey model country, head of investment agency says
MERSIN (A.A) - October 4, 2011 - Egypt regarded Turkey as a model country, head of Mediterranean investment agency has said.
Wafaa Sobhy, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Investment Promotion Agencies (ANIMA) and deputy chairperson of Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), attended "Mediterranean Industrial Investments Summit" in southern province of Mersin.
Speaking to AA correspondent on Tuesday, Sobhy said that Turkish economy had a special and very important place in the world economy. "We will encourage businesspeople to invest in Turkey," Sobhy said.
Turkish economy was getting better every day and it was a model country, she said.
Sobhy said that there were close ties between Turkey and Egypt, describing Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Egypt as "courtesy."
Erdogan's visit would contribute to investments in Egypt, she said.
ANIMA Investment Network is a multi-country platform supporting the economic development of the Mediterranean. The ANIMA network gathers around 80 governmental agencies and international networks. The objective of ANIMA is to contribute to a better investment and business climate and to the growth of capital flows into the Mediterranean region.
