NATO defense shield unable to intercept Iran missiles: Iranian military officer
TEHRAN, Oct.5(MNA) – The deputy commander of the Iranian Air Force said that the NATO missile defense shield is incapable of tracking Iran’s ballistic missiles.
Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh made the remarks on Tuesday in response to Turkey’s decision to host an early warning radar as part of NATO’s missile defense system.
“If Iran’s ballistic missiles are fired, NATO’s missile system will certainly be inefficient,” he said.
He also said, “We do not see the deployment of the NATO defense shield in Turkey as a threat because we have a definite plan to counter any type of threat.”
“Because we are at the height of military preparedness, we can give a crushing response in the shortest time possible,” he stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said Turkey is a NATO member and gave permission for the deployment of the defense shield on its soil in line with its policy of alignment with the West.
But, in fact, the deployment of the missile system is a desperate attempt by the United States to pressure Iran.
